I spent a day in the historic town of Bath, England while studying abroad in London January 2024. The lush, English countryside town is full of vibrant architecture and Roman remains. I took the train from Paddington to Bath Spa using the Trainline app. We arrived around 10:00 am and left at 9:00 pm, but we could’ve spent less time in Bath while having enough time to explore everything we wanted to see.

BOSTON TEA PARTY
Our first stop was for breakfast at The Boston Tea Party only a few minutes from the Bath Spa train station. The eggs benedict was phenomenal, I highly recommend it! The atmosphere of the diner was friendly, artistic, and the perfect place to people-watch.

BATH ABBEY
The Bath Abbey was about a 10-minute walk from the diner and the train station. The architecture, history, memorials, and stained glass were breathtaking; you must stop here! The entrance fee is only £7.50 for adults or £6.00 if you’re a student. You can look around and enjoy the beauty of the 413-year-old cathedral or attend a worship service.

ROMAN BATHS
The Roman baths are just steps away from the Bath Abbey and the most fascinating ancient architecture I have ever seen. The amount of history preserved in one little town is incredible. On your walk to the baths, you can listen to an audio tour that explains the layout of the baths, the history of the Romans, how different tools were used, and the purpose of the baths. The Romans visited the baths and temple to bathe in the sacred water to seek healing and pray. Your ticket will only be around £20 per person.

PULTENEY BRIDGE
The River Avon flows through the Pulteney Bridge, built in 1774. There are shops, businesses, and restaurants on the bridge alongside the road. When it’s warm out, go on a riverwalk or river cruise.

ROYAL CRESCENT
Who watches Bridgerton? There are many filming locations in Bath, England from the popular series, including the Royal Crescent. Visit No. 1 Royal Crescent Tuesday-Sunday to see the 1700s-themed museum and explore the history of Bath.
